365 Cards  Day 82
Caught in a Corner
"Use patterned paper that is intended for a scrapbook layout, and cut a piece down to fit a card".
I wasn't too sure what to do with this one. Could it be any 12 x 12? I'm into purples this month, actually this year, so I chose this printed paper which is DCWV stack 5. This particular pattern would be pretty on a beach layout. I only do boy pages, so this isn't necessarily a print I would use in my scrapbooking. But if I ever went to Hawaii, it would certainly be very appropriate. I think it makes for a very pretty friend card.
Thank you for stopping by and take care
365 Cards, Day 80
Cute Cuts - Use cut out letters
Using my Cricut, I cut the letters from Plantin SchoolBook and the bee/flower was cut from Live Simply. The oval shape was cut using Spellbinders Beaded Ovals.
Use a punch somewhere on your project.

This week's GAB challenge is to make a project using a punch.

For the card on the left, I punched out the cupcake and its candle. Celebrate was cut using my Cricut and I used spellbinders nestabilities for the blue and the white beneath the cupcake.
The card on the right was made using a border punch.

Now its your turn.

GAB Challenge #15
Chose one of the DT sketches for your project.
This is my sketch. I'm not sure if its a copy of someone elses or not so I'm not taking credit for it,  but I like the layout and have used it in the past. I put the sketch together in Word and then it took me half an hour to figure out how to get it here. Have fun with it.

Here is what I did with the above sketch. Actually, I made the card then made the sketch for here. And, as you can see, I left out a layer.
Check out the sketches the other GAB DTs have made for you to choose from. Have fun with this and don't forget to enter whatever project you choose over at GAB Challenges.

365 Cards

Here is my version
The dress is from a card recipe I got from a Beverly's in an e-mail. It was a mom's day card and they used islet lace. Instead of the fabric lace, I used cardstock and a MS border punch. I also added the ribbon at the waist.
I need to take a metal shop course to learn to make coat hangers. Mine turned out pretty good for a first attempt. Easy card, fun to make.

Thanks for stopping by.

I found this new blog, well, its not new to everyone, just me (and probably a few others). Anyway, here is my first card a tiny bit late. Like it was due last Monday. Next Monday is tomorrow.
Day 63 - Rhyme Time

 365 CARDS
This was the Monday, May 2 challenge.  It can be rhyming sentiment that's already written (from a stamp, sticker, rub-on, etc.) or one that you create yourself (handwritten, computer-generated or mixing-and-matching of media).  It all counts as long as you make it rhyme!

Here is my card. It falls into the mixing-and-matching of media catagory. While mostly computer generated, I still had to put time and effort into bringing everything together.

I found the roses on line using MS Word,  I placed the roses and  typed in the sentiment. The violets are a stamp from Hampton Art. I colored the flowers with my Zig pen. I used Swiss Dots embossing folder from Sizzix.

Color Challenge
Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red and Old Olive
Here is my color challenge card. I am looking forward to seeing your card over at GAB Challenges

I really must do more challenges. This challenge is such a clean and simple design it is right down my alley.

My card

Paper is from Creative imaginations and is ds, the stamp and punch are from SU, the little dots on the frosting are called "class a'peel" stickers from Stampendous and the ribbon is from the local craft store.
When you go over to OWH to enter your project, check out the tutorial on removing rubber stamps from the wooden blocks. That project is going to keep me busy this weekend.

Vivi, who does awesome paper crafting, is coming to the US this month and she is going to meet some of her on-line friends; plus attend some classes. To celebrate her visit, she is offering some blog candy.

If you want to win some candy, you need to go to Handmade by Vivi for all the rules. She hasn't decided what the candy will be as yet. She says its a surprise, but I know it will be something great. I entered, are you going to enter too?
