GAB Challenge #9  COLOR

Three colors are So Saffron, Real Red, and Peach parfait

 

As you can see, my card is mostly So Saffron. It didn't start out that way, I miss read the colors. I made the motif without the Peach Parfait and placed it on a green card base. As I was typing in the colors I realized my mistake. I took the motif and added a layer of Peach Parfait and placed it on the So Saffron card base. I then added the ribbon strip. In less than a minute my card looked totally different.  There are so many ways to put these three colors together. Now its your turn. Have fun.

GAB Challenge #8

Challenge 8 is to make a project using your FAVORITE TECHNIQUE.

I don't have a favorite technique, but this month I am heat embossing. The jar on my card was heat embossed in blue to give it the look of being glass. The jelly beans in the jar were computer generated as was the colorful paper behind. The jar and sentiments stamps  are from Stamps by Judith. They are newly purchased so I am having fun using them. GAB #6 - A sketch using Stitchy Bear digi.

I don't have any green patterned paper so I had to make some. The leprechaun digi is from Stitchy Bear and isn't he cute?

GAB Challenge #5 - Color: Pear Pizzaz, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake.
Its March already and what great colors to start the month with. 

This week's GAB Challenge is a Technique challenge using embossing, wet or dry. Here is my card.

The quilt design I got from SCS. The tutorial to make it is detailed and easy to follow. For my embossing, I used the Cuttlebug D'Vine embossing folder. If you if you look at the post just under this one, you will see some more cards that I used this technique on. I really like the embossing over the embellishment or design of the card.

I decided to enter a card in the House of Gill's first challenge. The challenge is to:

-Use some form of Sparkle 

-Use 3 Patterned Papers

-Use at least 2 dies and/or punches

 

As luck was with me, I was in an SSSD sketch swap and provided me with a sketch that would work well with the House of Gilli challenge. 

My sparkle is the butterfly (upper left), it has a gem on each of the wing parts, the pps are from my stash and the two circles are my die cuts. I don't have any Gilli stamps, so obviously couldn't use one.

A week or so ago I saw instructions (possibly on SCS) on making paper flowers look like dried flowers on a card. I couldn't get mine to come out looking like they were dried flowers, but I liked how the card turned out. This isn't the first one I did like this; I have used the embossing over my design on several cards I made this week.  I just love the look. Just remember that hard or thick embellishments are to be placed after embossing. I thank whoever came up with this idea. I'm sorry I can't give proper credit because I don't remember where I found directions.

The card on the right is also embossed. I got the quilted look from SCS. Its a great tutorial and the instructions are easy to follow. I don't like working with tiny pieces (having to put them together to form a pattern), but I really like the look and am going to have to make more of them. Hope you like my cards. Take care
