Do You Have a Super Hero?

Do you have a super hero? If you do, From the Heart Inspiration has the perfect digital stamp set for you. Super Birdbrain is the free stamp of the month set.

Isn't that a cute set? Great for Father's day, birthday or just because day.

I actually made my card weeks ago, like maybe two. It has been sitting because I'm not sure that I'm going to continue entering this challenge.

Here is my card
I made my background on the computer. When I cut it, I wasn't thinking of the direction of the print and it ended up being cut for a top fold card. When I was ready to put it together, I realized my bird hero and sentiment were made for a side fold card. So, turn the background paper or the sentiment. I cut out the bird and pop dotted him to add dimension to the card.

Back to my statement above. I have been doing this challenge for a year, maybe two. While I have enjoyed getting the freebees and making my cards, I feel bad that I don't buy any. I make my post and link it to From the Heart challenge blog. Sometimes at the very end of the month, like this one, and then, between the 1st and the 3rd of the next month, I find a free digi in my mail box. So, depending on what July's digi is, this may be my last post. If this is my last post for this challenge, I want to thank Faith for all the wonderful free digital stamps she has sent me. Even if it isn't my last entry... Thank you Faith.

Sketch with a twist

Would you like to win five digital images? Well, there's a new challenge over at Your Scrapbook Place. All you have to do is follow a sketch. That's easy, right, but... there is a twist.
Here is the sketch:

Here is the twist: add a tag. You can't use any of the sketch pieces, but it can be any size and shape that suits you. It must have a hole with ribbon/fiber and be on the front of the card. Removable or stationary, your choice.  Five pieces plus a tag. Have fun Ladies.

The guest sponsor for this challenge, Creative Bug Digital Stamps, is offering five digital images to the winner of a random drawing
In order to qualify for the drawing, you must link your entry back to Your Scrapbook Place

CBD Marcella

Here is the tag

I chose this little guy because he is cute and I don't do well with coloring. I sized him to fit a tag, printed him on brown paper. I made some prints on white so I could color his hat, mouth, hands and feet. I gave him googly eyes and put a pom pom on his hat.
I made the tag using the SU tag topper punch. Love that punch.

I chose the print paper that is on the card because it matches the design on the sock monkey. I changed the color many times before deciding on the green best.
Hope to see an entry from you at the Your Scrapbook Place challenge blog.
Take care

Anything Goes

IT'S A CRAFTING FREE-FOR-ALL, with a chance to win a set of Fiskars Embossing Plates and embossing tool to one lucky random winner at Your Scrapbook Place. To get to the challenge just click on Anything Goes . The challenge ends on June 14.

Here is my contribution

I don't normally do altered projects. But I entered a swap in May that was to make a Steno book cover. I've never done one but I did make an album cover once. Remember those padded album covers that were so popular many years back? Oh, I also altered a recipe box and a paint can, but I digress.

My reason for entering this swap is that I want to have something as prizes/gifts/awards for the TOPS group I belong to. We have contests among other things and I think that these steno books (most of us keep notes of one kind or another) would be nice as prizes. I will get six covers back plus my own. I can hardly wait.

Surely you have some craft item laying around that has never been posted that you could enter. Great time to let other bloggers know what you've been up to.  I hope to see your entry over at Your Scrapbook Place.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care and drive safe.

Two Challenges, One Card

I have two challenges to tell you about this month. I know, I know, the month is almost over. I have been having computer problems, one is in the shop, one doesn’t go onto the internet since Microsoft quit supporting XP and then there is the one I am working on now. It is so slow, I have to wait a couple of minutes for the “reply” form to come up if I want to reply to someone’s e-mail or on the boards. So, I’m not doing much computer work. My laser printer just bit the dust too. Of course it doesn’t work with vista or Win 7, so it was on its way out the door. Well I could go on and on, but you aren’t here to read about my computer problems, you want to see my card and check out the challenges.

The card uses a digi from From the heart stamps for their “Free Digi of the Month challenge. It’s a cute one, with lots of coloring possibilities. It’s called Whimsy Garden Fence.

The other challenge is for Your Scrapbook Place. Its a recipe card. Six items must be used on the card, a printed background, two images and three buttons. You can check out this challenge here

I'm so late with this, that unfortunately you may not have time to make and entry into either challenge. Go check out the challenges and know that there will be new challenges come June 1.

Thanks for stopping by, Drive safe.

Ease(l) Into the New Challenge

Ease(l) Into the New Challenge  at Your Scrapbook Place. For this challenge I used a digi from our sponsor, Squibbles Design. The challenge is to make an Easel card. If you make an Easel card and enter it at Your Scrapbook Place, you will be entered into a drawing for three digis of your choice from Scribbles Design. Entries close May 14, 2012

Isn't that frog adorable? That's a Scribbles Design digi that I printed out on splotchy green paper. I didn't want to color the frog and I think the paper is perfect for my frog. I then did some fussy cutting, and put pop dots behind him. I heat embossed his pad so it would be shinny and have some depth to it. The flowers at the bottom, which the face of the card butts up against to make the easel, are Dimensionals from Debbie Mumm as is the dragonfly in the upper right corner.

I enjoyed making this card but getting it here was a totally different matter. But that's another story.
I hope to see some entries in this challenge at Your Scrapbook Place
Winner will be picked by a random drawing.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care and drive safe.

Is it Spring yet?

A lot of us are still looking for Spring. The date says it spring, but the weather, well, the weather isn't cooperating in some places. I think Faith over at from the Heart Stamps is trying to get spring to come and stay a while. The Free Stamp of the Month is Spring Medley.

This is also my card for the SSSD COTM swap. The colors for the swap are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo. I also added the green to my card, because to me, flower stems are green.

Here's hoping that Spring gets every where she's suppose to be before Summer arrives.

Thanks for coming by, Take Care and drive safe.

Pinterest Inspriation

Your Scrapbook Place blog is having its first challenge of 2014. Its an interesting challenge. What you need to do to enter the challenge is peruse Pinterest. Sounds like fun doesn't it. Only the challenge doesn't end there. You need to take inspiration from there. Make a card, scrapbook page, or other crafty project that Pinterest inspired you to make. Tell us why you chose that piece of inspiration. You can find all the rules and some examples here.

As for me, I only go to pinterest when I'm looking for something specific. I have looked for punch art items. I joined some Punch art swaps and needed to find food, animals, plants, people, etc. Later on this month I will need to find a treat box I can make; Pinterest, here I come.

But for now, here are a few punch art items I have made in the past, getting the inspiration from Pinterest.

Here are a few punch art items that I have swapped. That little orange cat was not a Pinterest find, it was an SU find. But he is so cute, I had to put him in here. The angel and little man were for a "people" swap, the two cats and angry bird for an animal swap and the donut and chocolate chip cookie

Below is a birthday card I made using a caterpillar  I found on Pinterest. I think she is so cute. Had a bit of trouble with his face, her mouth isn't quite as smiley as I would like, but ya only get one chance.

I belong to a birthday club and this card is going to our April birthday girl. I hope she likes it.

Ingredients: SU Owl Builder, Bird Builder, Create a Cupcake, Word Window and Modern Label punches. Yellow paper and cupcake stripes is from the Watercolor Designer Series. Sentiment is from SU Big Wish stamp set. The circles are from various punch sizes, and SU embossing folder. Everything else if from stash. There you have it, my first entry into a Your Scrapbook Place a challenge.
You too can enter, just go here.

Thanks for stopping by. Take care and drive safe
