Know what happens when ya don't read all the rules? Yip, ya miss out. That's what I did. I bought the digi, made the card and when I went to get all the links, I found I was too late. Woe is me. LOL  I did get an adorable digi and I pulled out my pens and attempted to color using only four colors, as I had decided to do the challenge at Scrapbook Place Challenges. So my card is still in a challenge and it is heading cross country to one of the SSSD February Birthday Girls. I hope she likes it.

Here is the sketch that is to be followed and the Color Theme to use is Red, Pink, Purple and White.

What fun, but the digi that I downloaded from Designed2Delight isn't really made to have only four colors used. I just couldn't give the  girl purple hair, but I do see purple hair at my grands school, at the store, etc.  Now the bird and the cat, well...

This is my take on the sketch above. Except for the hair and grass, I kept to the color theme.
If you would like to give this challenge a try, you can find it here at Scrapbook Place Challenges

The digi is A Tweet Birthday Gift that you can find here. Pens used were Zig, Copics and SU. paper, ribbon and flowers are from stash.

I did it!

I decided that this year I needed to get back to scrapbooking. I have tons and tons of pictures that need to be gotten out of the shoe boxes and into albums and lots of pictures on my computer that need to be printed and put into albums.
This is the first page of a two page layout. The title should have an "S", but it won't get one until I get to JoAnn's to buy another sheet of the giraffe paper. I had all the letters, had them glued to the shadow, but when I went to glue them to the page, the "S" was missing. I have no idea where it went, but I know that as soon as I buy another sheet of paper and cut the letter, it will show up. That's what I get for buying only two sheets of the paper, I can't finish the page.

I cut the title using Base Camp. The journaling is computer generated. The giraffe head in the upper right hand corner, I cut from an extra copy of the picture you see here. The giraffe on the journaling box is The Zoo cardstock stickers from Paper House productions.

Here is page two, pretty plain, but I don't think it needs any thing else and I'm not one for a lot of embellishments. I did cut out another giraffe head for the upper right hand corner. I fed that giraffe, and so did my grandson.

These pictures were taken at the

Recipe Card redo

In my January 8 post, I had my Ooops card. A recipe card where I didn't use all the ingredients. I said I would post the card that I eventually sent to my swap partner.

I like this card so much better. I used SU Wild Wasabi, Garden Green and So Saffron. The large flower is cut using Sizzzix Flower Layers #3 and the small flower is cut using the Boho Blossoms punch. White flowers are from stash. There, I fixed my ooops and my ooops card turned into a birthday card which was sent out last week. Thanks for stopping by and Take Care.

Bragging Rights

I don't brag very often, but I'm bragging today. We recently had a gymnastics meet and our Level 7 - 10 team took first place. What a way to start our gymnastics season.

We couldn't get them to stand on the podium for a team picture, so this is how they looked after the awards ceremony ended.  (Boys and picture posing just don't mix)
The difference between first place team and third place team was only five points. A very good meet and all the teams did good.

These are the All Around winners, first place to 6th place, I couldn't get all 8. The first place winner, which is my grandson, had an AA score of 70.6. Unfortunately, they didn't give us the AA scores for the other placements, but they were pretty close considering the closeness of the team scores.

Jordan took 4th on Floor, 1st on Pommel, 1st on Rings, 2nd on Vault, 1st on Parallel Bars and 1st on High bar

A big hand for all of the boys that competed. They did really  well.

Oooops

As some of you know, I do several swaps each month. Keeps me busy and out of trouble. Anyway, this month there is a new swap over at SSSD and its called Recipe card. When I first saw that I thought we were suppose to make a card with a recipe on it. No, no, no. Whew, but it would be a fun swap. Back to the Recipe card swap. The idea is to make a card using specific items, hence "recipe". Well, I read my "recipe" and promptly went off to make my card. A die cut, couple of flowers, three designer papers.

Here is my card. One swap finished. Just need a partner to send it to.

 Items used:
2 flowers in stamp form. actually its four + flowers
1 die cut, Nestabilities Labels 10
2 designer papers Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler (I think)

Now did I get everything?

Oooops, this is what you get when you don't read all the instructions, back to the drawing board.

When you leave something out of a recipe it doesn't usually turn out right. Well, I think my card turned out just right, even tho I left out a designer paper. This will now become a birthday card.
Oh, the stamp set used is SU Bordering on Romance. Love this set, just need to use it more.
I will post the "Recipe card" I do send out to my partner in another post.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to say "Hi"
