I haven't done this one before, so the technique is new to me. Hiding in my craft Room's challenge was to make a project using the wax resist technique. Here is my take on it.
I apologize for the shortness of this post I'm leaving on a camping trip in about 10 minutes and Friday got here before I was ready for it.
So, go check out HIMCR. Check out her blog, really neat stuff goes on there. The cuts were made for the Simply Charmed cartridge. Thanks for stopping buy and I will be out and around your blogs next week.
Take care

Hanging Out
I'm still doing Halloween, I think I have said before that I never do Halloween, but... Trick or Treat night is fast approaching. My grand kids are getting their costumes made and are excited about going to "Parents Night Out" at the gym. They go in costume and there will be a contest. Unfortunately I can't tell you what they are dressing as or show you a picture. However I can show you a card I made.
Would you believe I worked on this for nearly three days? Well, not every minute, but it took me three days of think, cutting, coloring and gluing for it to come to completion. The pumpkin image is from Designed2delight, I printed them on vellum then colored them with Zig markers, I don't have any oranges in Copic. I cut the tree from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I placed the tree and the moon on my card base, placed the vellum over it and then glued the bat and phrase on the vellum. I am entering this in the Friday's image challenge over at Designed2delight. Well, I was going to enter it, but I can't get into their website so I cannot vouch for the link.
Thanks for stopping by and Take care.

Pinterest - A new learning experience
I got me a Pinterest account. Not too sure why, but it seemed the thing to do. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it. They want me to download apps, put a Pinterest button on my blog and make a board. Ok, I got the button, its over there on the left. If you are reading this and its Sunday, come back another day to click on the button. Why? cause I don't have a board yet. Gotta figure out how to make one. I tried pinning something, but it failed. Or at least it didn't show up on my board (maybe because I don't have one?). It could be fluttering out there, lost in cyber land looking for my board. Guess that means I must download some app. to make it work. My project for this evening is to make a board.
I am also following people that I will probably never visit. They were added automatically and I understand why. But there doesn't seem to be a button to "unfollow". There are a couple that I would like to remove because there is no commonality. I will have an initial visit, its the polite thing to do, and who knows, there just might be something to keep me going back. A few of my friends showed up on my list, that makes me happy. I added one on my own, figured out how to find her and add her. And already, I have been added to someone's list. Thank you Jennipher. Now that I have bored you to tears, I will close this. I will be adding some projects tomorrow or Tuesday. Thanks for coming by. Take care.

Hope in pink
Is it pink enough? While I have a lot of pinks, I just can't seem to find any that go together very well so I selected a pink, wine and cream. There are various shades of pink in the patterned paper which I thought went very well with the sentiment of this card.
I am going to upload the card to Link up for Pink linking party. I hope my card is pink enough, but then there are gazillions of cards over there, who would notice. Go check out the site, this is their first annual Link up for Pink linking party. If I don't see you there this year, maybe next year.

Halloween
I seem to be making a lot of Halloween cards. I have made more this past couple of weeks than all combined previously. Here is another one.
I saw a challenge over at Designed2delight that was to use pencils as the coloring medium. This card has two challenges and a swap combined. The sketch, the pencil coloring and use Glossy Accents. The sketch I used was for the Mojo Monday 209 challenge, color using pencils for Designed2delight, (being a procrastinator, I missed this one) and the card was sent for the Glossy Accents swap. I used my color pencils to color the bear and pumpkin, I did use a pen for the leaves (they sparkle). After coloring the image, I used my Glossy Accents on the pumpkin to make it shiny.
I hope you like my card and please, feel free to comment. I appreciate them all. Take care

Hope
Pink, Pink, Think Pink
Its October. Breast cancer awareness month. Think pink month. I see pink all around, the stores have products packaged in pink, pink ribbons on cars and in windows. So many things around reminding us to get our mammograms. You had yours?
This card is...well, I'm not really happy with it, any ideas on what I can do to improve it? The butterfly just didn't turn out like the picture I had in my head. I wanted to enter something pink over at HIMCR and it closes in a couple of hours so this one is going as is. I'm a procrastinator, always waiting til the last minute.
The butterfly is from Designed2Delight. I printed the butterfly (The Hope Cancer awareness set) on pink, placed a ribbon (the image has the outline of a ribbon) there in the middle and added gems and Stickles around the wings. The flower border is also in the set. I colored most of the flowers using various pens. I used stickers for the word "Hope". I don't normally use letter stickers and I have a large accordion file that is brimming over with alpha stickers. I'm going to have to donate them somewhere.

We have a winner!
I offered a copy of My Memories digital scrapbooking software. Marlene has won it. Marlene, you need to contact me by Oct. 12 so I can give you the info you need to download your new software.World Card Making Day
Anyone spend last Saturday making cards. A whole lot of people did, but I didn't. I was at my grandson's Future Stars Region 1 gymnastics Evaluation & Clinic. Boys ages 10 - 14 compete for a chance to go to the Future Stars Nationals. He qualified! so he and I will be going to Colorado. That is why I didn't make any cards last Saturday. HOWEVER...
I did indeed make a card in honor of World Card Making Day. That's it, over on the left. I think its pretty. Not only did I make this card for a cyber friend, but I wanted to enter it in a couple of challenges. Being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't get it entered into any of them. I enjoyed making the card, I measured, printed, colored, cut, pasted and stamped. A labor of love.
Thank you for coming by. Take care

Patches the Ghost
Image challenge
I download images off the web a lot, however, downloading a digital stamp and using it is something I don't do very often. The downloaded digi I have used here is from Designed2Delight. This is their last image challenge of the month for September. You can find the challenge here.I download Patches and used the clear (they come in three formats) digi, I also had previously downloaded some papers from Designed 2 Delight and placed the solid orange behind the pumpkins before printing. I printed out a square of the patterned background paper. After printing out the images, I did some cutting and pasteing. Didn't want an orange ghost. I colored the cat with pencil as well as the patches and face on the ghost.
Isn't that little ghost cute?
I am also using this card for a swap. I had an item sent to me and I had to use it on a project. The item was a piece of green foam. I cut the foam using a Sizzix die and my BigShot. The sentiment was cut using the Wild Card cartridge and my Cricut.
I hope you like my card. Take care

Friends make life blossom
Its almost Monday and I want to enter this card in the Mojo Monday challenge for this past week. Its my first card for the Mojo Monday challenges and here are 100+ entries before me, so its going to be pretty obscure. Monday Mojo 208 |
This card is also being sent in a color of the month swap. Colors to use are grass green, cream and black. Ok, I got the black and the cream right, the grass green is a little iffy. However, if you look at the grass in my yard, its different greens and there is even some yellow in it.
The flower is made of a heavy lace and I used a green button for the center. The sentiment is heat embossed.
Thank you for stopping by and take care
